Help is Coming

It is one of the saddest things to see–the suffering of an HIV/AIDS patient. I recently became acquainted with Paul Schneider Jr. who leads AID for Children. They have been working with AIDS affected children in Africa. His efforts have been recently studied in Kenya where 250 AIDS children were given a vitamin supplement that has shown positive results. The Health Department of Kenya partnered with Aid for Children in a blind study to gather results from the use of this supplement. The results of a five month study showed improvement in strength and a better response to their medication. I first am very happy for those innocent children who showed improvement.

IFC will be starting 24 HIV/AIDS patients on the supplements. We will be transporting enough vitamin supplements to complete a three month period. The Doctors at the Hohidiai Clinic will monitor the results by charting patients progress. The Regional Health Department has given their blessing and we are hopeful. If we can give these patients a better quality of life or a stronger response to their medications, we need to offer that to them.  In three months, we will have results and I hope there will be a lot to rejoice about.
