Hendrik's shoes 11-15

You should have seen Hendrik’s face when he saw his new shoes. His was so excited to try on the new shoes for which he had waited. These shoes were fitted for him months earlier when he placed his feet into a foam box to make a perfect impression. As a leper, Hendrik’s toes are gone and his left foot does not move. It is “frozen” in a slight upward angle. No off-the-shelf shoe fits him. These were specially made just to fit his battered feet. It was November, and Hendrik was trying on his new shoes. It was a great day, a happy day, to see someone who has suffered as much as he has, get something that means so much to him. After trying on the shoes, there were alterations to be made to allow the shoes to fit properly. It means a lot, to do a small thing to make walking much easier for a person like Hendrik. He was so blessed to get these shoes. He spent 15 years in the jungle where he  could not walk. Now he has fitted shoes that allow him to walk.
