About IFC US

IFC US is an American based Christian organization which exists to meet the physical and emotional needs of former Indonesian refugees and the poor.

The conflict in Maluku began in Ambon on January 19, 1999. Outside militia members came to this region which resulted in a refugee crisis. The villagers faced horrific attacks on their villages and to date approximately 10,000 have been slain.

Tens of thousands of homes have been burned and nearly 600,000 people sought safety and fled from their home region. This mass exodus of families resulted in a humanitarian crisis. Organizations like IFC have stepped in to provide the most basic needs for these suffering multitudes. These refugees are now returning to their home villages and trying to renew their lives.

IFC US seeks to raise the level of concern by encouraging people to give from their abundance to meet the basic necessities of these former refugees who have lost homes and loved ones. IFC US seeks to restore the God-given dignity of these ones and rebuild their homes and lives.

The staff and leadership of IFC US believe that Jesus Christ is a God of mercy and hope. He is the God who brings grace and dignity amidst the most disgraceful and undignified situations. IFC US joins with IFC Indonesia, IFC Australia, and IFC Europe to practically meet both the physical and emotional needs of the Indonesian refugees.
