Food
IFC
has provided provided countless truckloads of emergency
food rations to the refugee camps and other refugees. A
large part of the relief we bring is food supplies to the
hungry. There has been real concern over the problems of
malnutrition.
We recognize that food provision is a temporary answer
to a larger problem. IFC is committed to helping the refugees
return to their home lands or resettlement communities,
where they can begin to provide for their own livelihood.
Other
food projects supply seed and expert agricultural education.
Having lost homes and land, many refugees are without tools
used to provide food for their families. IFC has replaced
some farm tools and fishing equipment. The cost to feed
a family of five is approximately one U.S. dollar a day.
